A quilt label will document the quilt’s purpose and maker, and usually the date. This will help future generations remember and recognize the age of your quilt when it has become an heirloom.
Quilt labels can be printed on a printer or hand-written in indelible ink, but I prefer the grace and beauty of embroidered labels.
An embroidered label can be stitched into white fabric like the one shown above, or it can be stitched onto a piece of fabric from the quilt or in a similar color to the quilt.
If you do not have access to an embroidery machine, I can embroider quilt labels like this for you at $1 per letter. Just email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will get started!
